About The Books

Books available in the Aggie and Pepper series:

“Aggie and Pepper”

I always wanted to write stories about my two rescue dogs, and Covid 19 gave me my chance. I was a high school math teacher when Covid hit us between the eyes, and our school district was offering remote lessons for several months. I was at home, with time on my hands, so I began to write. It was fun introducing folks to Aggie and Pepper, and I had a great time putting them in strange situations and watching what happened. They met all kinds of interesting characters: Hundreds of angry cats, including Gulliver, the meanest cat there ever was, for example. There is a raccoon named Cooter, who speaks with an English accent, as well as a grumpy old cuss named Mr. Gibson. Aggie and Pepper also run into a huge snake and give battle, and there is an exciting trip to the beach that quickly became epic – even legendary! It was and is a terrific adventure, and we find out just how resourceful – and sneaky – Aggie and Pepper are.

“Dog Days with Aggie and Pepper”

When I was a boy, I loved when we had a book fair at school, and I could buy as many as my mom would let me have. I particularly loved the books about dogs by Jim Kjelgaard and Jack London. Nothing was better on a rainy day than reading about Big Red or Buck. When I had the opportunity to write my own, I immediately chose my own two rescue dogs – Aggie and Pepper – for inspiration.  The first book in the series was called “Aggie & Pepper” and introduced us to those two sweet little creatures. They found themselves in all kinds of adventures – humorous as well as exciting – and we enjoyed their antics, their fun together, their conversations, the others they met along the way. It was a wild ride!

This second book continues the journey – taking us into new and even more exciting worlds. Without much effort on their part, Aggie and Pepper seem to stumble into situations that would seem to be unbearable at times. Still, they find ways to cope, taking turns rescuing one another from, among other things, an angry alligator and a giant wild pig! Just picturing that boggles the mind – reading about it makes one want to stand up and cheer! The book is filled with wonder and joy and funny characters. For the cat lovers out there, I wrote about Sagittarius and Cornflake, two of the most interesting representatives of the feline species. We also meet Aggie and Pepper’s cousins – Joan and Jett. Join us on the road!
